Catch Me If You Can is the story of bureaucratic incompetence
told as an action-comedy.
It’s a period
piece that takes place mainly in the 1960s.
Tom Hanksand Leonardo DiCaprio match wits as good guy and basically a good villain.
Leonardo DiCaprio plays the freshest-faced villain that has ever graced the big screen.
Watch
with great sympathy as Frank Abagnale, Jr. robs from Pan Am Airlines, impersonates
a doctor, gains employment as a lawyer in the Louisiana DA’s office, and kites checks
all over the globe.
The thing
is, Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark did it so much better. She avoids not just one
semi-competent bureaucrat, but thieves, armies, and guards! She even escapes
from the clutches of a very odd cult that blinded her! Frankie, as his mother
calls him, didn’t do that!
What’s
that? “What’s a check?”
A check
is a platform on which an abstract representation of wealth can be displayed
through writing. It was used for eons up until 10 years ago.
